I've talked about the beacons, but you might have noticed they're not the only constant in my images. The mushrooms are usually present as well.
They are used frequently in many things, by many people. An easy choice to represent nature with a side of magic and whimsy. I use them with the same purpose, yes.
But, for me, they also represent perseverance. They keep popping up!
You know that tumblr meme? You cannot kill me in a way that matters. Yeah, that's where I got the notion of mushrooms = perseverance.
So they're about keeping it whimsical, magical, playful - keeping the inner child present and allowing it to dream.
They're about resisting, persisting, persevering against the heavy and dark aspects of life.
And they go hand in hand with the beacons.
You might have noticed them in my images. The big rocks - standing stones - with light in them. My beacons.
What's up with that?
Well, much like lighthouses, they're there to guide you through the dream worlds, so you don't get lost in them.
Stable and unmoving.
They're reassurance, a tether to reality.
By extension, they also represent me, the one guiding your journey through the Inner Worlds.
So they became somewhat of a signature.
It started with this picture I took a couple of years now. Just a tiny thing on the ground that caught my eye and imagination.
Yup! There they are.
Still, the idea stuck with me and I couldn't let it go. And so, I started making my beacons. I made a bunch (And I keep making more)!
So, TLDR, the beacons are guides, and the guides are me. There you have it!
